One of Shirley’s passions is to develop and motivate people from racial minority communities. With Wirral Change, she has created many opportunities for clients to make fresh starts once settling on Wirral from overseas. Shirley has worked hard at breaking down barriers to enable Wirral Change clients to find the best employment and service opportunities available.
In her Wirral Change roles she has set up and coordinated numerous events including multicultural lunches, events around English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and Job Fairs. She was instrumental in Wirral Change obtaining both its Matrix standard quality mark and the Skills Pledge. She also coordinates staff training and development.
